The Provincial Membership Officer is responsible for continuing and evolving the concept of pro-active recruitment in the Province. This is intended to provide an opportunity for men who currently have no Masonic connections to find out more about Freemasonry. The role includes promoting Freemasonry at appropriate opportunities including community shows, exhibitions and open days at Masonic halls plus the follow up of any membership enquires.
He reports to the Assistant Provincial Grand Master responsible for Membership.
Neil is supported at local level by a team of four regional and 23 group membership officers. The group membership officers assist with membership issues and process inquiries locally. These brethren also liaise with local organisations and communities, holding open days and manning displays at local shows. They make use of promotional materials such as Masonic publications, business cards and a touring display trailer.
In addition to face-to-face contact with the public the membership team also process enquiries from social media.
